Marios Avraamides

Professor of Cognitive Psychology, University of Cyprus, Co-Leader of the Neo-Move Group, CYENS Centre of Excellence

Marios Avraamides is Professor of Cognitive Psychology at the University of Cyprus and co-Leader of the Neo-Move Group at the CYENS Centre of Excellence. He holds a PhD in Cognitive and Experimental Psychology from Pennsylvania State University. Prior to joining the University of Cyprus, he conducted research at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics.

He has led numerous national and international research projects, including an ERC Starting Grant and several Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowships. His research spans the study of human cognition, with a particular focus on attention, perception, and memory. Drawing on his expertise in Psychology and Neuroscience, he also conducts applied research on the assessment of cognitive and physical abilities in sport and the development of innovative technologies to support elite performance.
