Litsa Panayiotopoulos is one of Greece’s most prominent figures in technology, innovation, entrepreneurship, and education, with an international career spanning more than four decades. She studied Computer Science and Management at the University of London and developed her professional career alongside pioneers who shaped modern computing and enterprise technology, from Bill Norris and Seymour Cray to Control Data, the CYBER generation of supercomputers, and Larry Ellison at Oracle. For sixteen years, she served as President and CEO of Oracle Greece and subsequently assumed responsibility for Southeast Europe and Cyprus, establishing and staffing subsidiaries in sixteen countries. She made a significant contribution to Greece’s digital transformation through critical technology projects for Public Administration, OTE, PPC, the banking sector, the Armed Forces, and the Athens Stock Exchange. At the same time, her influence is reflected in the generations of executives, entrepreneurs, and young people whom she has supported and mentored. She was the first woman to hold senior institutional positions at the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce, ALBA Graduate Business School, EEDE, and SEN/Junior Achievement Greece. In 2023, she was honored by the Ministry of Digital Governance and Artificial Intelligence for her contribution to the use of Information and Communication Technologies in both the public and private sectors. As founder and head of OTE Academy, she collaborated with the World Bank to develop technology and management programs across all countries of Sub-Saharan Africa, expanding access to knowledge and professional skills. She currently serves as Senior Advisor to Purdue University and as Vice President of the Special Sectoral Scientific Council of the Ministry of Development for Regional Development and Technology, within the “Region and Scientific Diaspora” pillar. In 2026, she was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the Agricultural University of Athens, in recognition of her longstanding contribution to education, innovation, and entrepreneurship, as well as her role in connecting knowledge with production, society, and new business ventures.
