A great idea can change the world—but only if it finds a way out of the lab. Dr Alexandros Charalambides shares what helping more than 200 entrepreneurs has taught him about turning research, innovation and climate ambition into viable businesses with real-world impact.

Dr. Alexandros Charalambides is a Professor at the Department of Sustaibale Development of the Cyprus University of Technology, working primarily on how innovation and entrepreneurship can assist in the global efforts for decarbonization.

He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London, he serves on the Board of the International Solar Energy Society and served on the Board of the Electricity Authority of Cyprus.

He is also the founder of Chrysalis LEAP, the first cleantech accelerator in Cyprus, and has trained more than 200 entrepreneurs on how to go from a research idea to a viable business.
