Christos Timplalexis holds a Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and is currently a PhD candidate in the same department. He is also the co-founder and Chief Product Officer of Optimems, a CERTH spin-off founded in 2022. Optimems develops integrated hardware and software solutions for microgrids and virtual power plants, actively contributing to decarbonization and the transformation of the energy sector. Within just three years, Optimems has expanded its operations to Greece, Sweden, and Austria, while in the Greek market it holds a leading position in energy curtailment equipment sales for renewable energy parks. The company has received significant distinctions, including 1st place at NBG Business Seeds and the MIT StartSmart Accelerator, as well as international recognition with a top-5 finish at the Urban Tech Hackathon and a top-10 spot at the Web Summit Vancouver.
