Lia Joan Riris is the Deputy CEO of Invest Cyprus, leading strategic efforts to attract foreign direct investment and position Cyprus as a globally competitive business hub. Working closely with the Government of Cyprus, she advances policy advocacy, investor facilitation, and the promotion of high-growth sectors. With over 20 years of experience in economic diplomacy and international relations, Lia previously served as Head of International Relations and Economic Diplomacy at the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where she led over 30 international business delegations—many headed by the President of Cyprus—and managed 42 bilateral and regional business associations. She holds degrees in International Relations and International Law and is a certified Economic Diplomacy Trainer by Clingendael Academy. Lia is recognized for her strategic insight, international engagement, and ability to navigate complex geopolitical environments. She actively contributes to business networks and boards, and is an advocate for innovation, sustainability, and inclusive growth.
