Panos Protopapas holds a BSC in Mechanical Engineering and an MSc in Advanced Mechanical Engineering (Imperial College-University of London, UK) and he has been the General Manager of ELYSEE since 2005. A member of the Society of Plastic Engineers (SPE), he has also served as the Cyprus representative in the CEN\TC European Committee 155 (Creation, review and approval of European Standards for “Plastic Piping and Ducting Systems’’) and as a technical expert in the CEN\TC\WG12 working group for polyethylene pipe systems. He has also participated in more than 20 research programs concerning thermoplastics and polymer processing. Parallel to that he has been trained in the Lean Manufacturing philosophy for World Class Enterprises, with extensive seminars and international trainings in Japan, Denmark and in Cyprus. He has extensive knowledge in polymers and the relevant challenges of recycling and energy management in the manufacturing field for plastics. Elysee is applying Lean Manufacturing in both Operations and Product Development and has a firm and ambitious environmental strategy. He has ventured the international expansion of Elysee through the sister companies Elysee Rohrsysteme in Austria, Elysee WISE in Lebanon, Elysee Prime in Egypt and Elysee Rus. Through this strong local presence in the markets as well as regular presence in international events of the piping sector, has pushed the Elysee brand to be recognizable internationally. The brand now stands for product quality, innovation, consistency and sustainability. He has extensive experience of more than 25 years in the industrial environment and in the successful launching and completion of projects. He is a Lean fanatic as well as a strong advocate of Circular Economy and Sustainable business practices.
