An AI answer can sound convincing and still be wrong. Dr. Demetris Trihinas explores why AI’s usefulness depends on the information it can access, how data science helps us test its answers, and what entrepreneurs can do to use AI more responsibly.

Dr. Demetris Trihinas is a tenured Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Nicosia, where he coordinates the BSc in Data Science and is a Senior Member of the University’s Artificial Intelligence Lab. His research focuses on scalable data analytics and AI systems, with current work on energy-aware MLOps and efficient deep learning. He has coordinated and contributed to European and nationally funded research projects. His work has received several Best Paper Awards, and his research outputs have been featured on the European Commission’s Innovation Radar.
