Marios Loucaides has extensive and multifaceted experience in commercial activities across sectors such as consumer goods, food service, tobacco, cosmetics, duty-free retail, telecommunications, and technology. His career spans roles in sales, marketing, logistics, and information systems. With an academic background in mathematics, physics, and computing from the Universities of London and Oxford, he began his professional journey as a college lecturer. Although he only taught for two years, his passion for sharing knowledge has remained with him throughout his career. He went on to work for a decade in the emerging field of information technology before joining the CTC Group, where he served for 25 years, including 14 years as the Group’s CEO. His involvement with organizations in advertising, television audience measurement, restaurant reviews, ECR, debating competitions in high schools through Toastmasters, and community events such as the annual Zivania festival in Alona, further broadened his expertise. In 2019, he founded Synpraxis, a consultancy firm that aims to share his knowledge and experience. His work includes advisory projects in Cyprus, Malta, Greece, and Lebanon, with a particular focus on family businesses and the strategic steps they must take for long-term success. Through his participation in Be.e Philosophy, he has shared insights, guidance, and training with more than 50 small and medium-sized family businesses in Cyprus, contributing to their growth and sustainability.
