George Petrou was born in 1958 in Alambra and began his career as a football player. In 1982, he founded the dairy company AFOI PETROU, which he has fully managed since 1991. Under his leadership, the company has grown into one of the largest in Cyprus, exporting to 40 countries and employing over 300 people. He has three sons, all actively involved in the business in leadership roles. He is one of the five pioneers who contributed to the global recognition of Halloumi. He served as President of the Cheesemakers’ Association and is a member of the Larnaca Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In 2023, he invested in a new milk and juice production unit, continuing with dedication to quality and tradition. His motto is devotion to quality, tradition, and people—moving forward without forgetting where we started.
